Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) Butter a 4×8-inch loaf pan.
Fork the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until they are smooth. Mix the banana paste with the melted butter.
Add baking soda, and salt and mix well Add sugar, beaten egg and vanilla. Mix in the flour.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Remove from oven and let cool completely on a rack. Lift the banana bread out of the pan. Slice and serve.
